Achille Picco (1939) is a historic Italian Illustrator, Painter and Sculptor. During the years of his training he attended the "Scuola del Nudo", where he learned to merge an overall view and anatomical attention with attention to detail, a distinctive sign that will accompany all of his subsequent work.
From the 60s to today he has illustrated numerous books and series, collaborating with major national and international publishing houses including AMZ, Mondadori, Giunti and De Agostini, illustrating many classics dedicated to childhood and young people.
Despite his intense and prolific activity as an illustrator, Achille Picco is primarily a painter and sculptor and has taught pictorial and sculptural techniques in numerous Italian schools, including the European Institute of Design.Having recently approached the "wildlife" artistic movement, he expresses his love for wild nature in his works, both in painting and sculpture. His pictorial research, in particular, full of mellow brushstrokes, leads him to construct scenes that seem more to evoke atmospheres than to describe stories.
